Praying for Alabama

Most of us have heard about the recent storms and tornado's that hit Alabama a few weeks ago. Last week we received a call from one of our Retailers, she informed us that her store had completely been lost due to the tornado's that hit her home town of Phil Campbell, Alabama. My heart sank as she briefly described what had occurred. Being that my husband is from Alabama and my in-laws currently reside there, it really hit home.

As Cindy (our Retailer) and I were discussing what went on - that frightening day, my heart broke for all those involved. I was in disbelief, saddened and questioning everything. I then immediately returned to my faith knowing that God is in control. I do not understand His timing of the events, but I do know that it is His plan.

As she went on with the horrific details that went on that day, she continued to say that there were those who lost several family members, 98% of the houses that lined the road all the way into town had been completely demolished by the storm, many people were searching for family members and friends not knowing if they had survived the tornado or not. People were left with trying to figure out where they were going to sleep at night, many no longer had vehicles to drive, socks or undergarments to wear, diapers or food for their children, pet food, toothbrushes, the things are endless that people were left without.

It’s been a few weeks since the storm and some have not begun to mourn the losses. This may seem like “old news” to some but a big reality for those with families who lost loved ones, no longer have shelter and those who have lost it all! Cindy’s son had lost two friends as well as a teacher from the school he attends. For a child to have to attend a funeral for someone that they attended school with, played on the playground with and played baseball with on a daily basis is just unimaginable. The high school is severely damaged and will have to be re-built. They will have a long tough road ahead of them, but with many friends, family and the help of God they will pick up the pieces and move on. It will be a long process and will take lots of time to heal, but all will be possible with the power of prayer.

In a situation like this I feel for everyone involved. It must so hard trying to figure out how to simply carry on a normal day without daily necessitates. Some of the simple things many of us take for granted. I immediately wanted to help out in some way and thought there must be something we can do! I decided to share this with all of you because we have the most amazing Facebook fans, Faith Baby subscribers and with the power of prayer all things are possible to those whom seek HIM first. From day one I made a commitment to share the blessings of Faith Baby with those in need and I cannot think of a better opportunity to pay it forward.

In a devastation such as this and with many families facing costs that most of us will never know, sowing even the smallest seed can produce a big blessing to those in need. I am praying and believing that our friends and Faith Baby fans will join and virtually hold hands with us as we reach across the country and even the globe, to help out this precious little town in Alabama.

I know that I’m taking a big step of faith here as I turn to our Faith Baby family in a fundraiser for someone else. It’s a little out of the ordinary for me, but I feel very led by the Lord to do this and I know that He'll guide me every step of the way. I pray that you have read this with an open heart, and that you will think of all of the lives who are in need today, tomorrow and the weeks to come.

Here’s where we need a little help from you... I know we are not all able to donate or in a financial position to give. If you want to help, you can give with NOTHING out of pocket. We will give for you! Faith Baby will donate $1 to the community of Phil Campbell for every -1- new fan we get on our Facebook Fan Page from today until May 31, 2011.

So, all you have to do is “share” our FaceBook fan page with as many friends and family members as you would like and once they “Like” our page we’ll add $1 to the pot up to $500. Ask your friends to send out the same request to their friends...It’s that simple! The more ways you suggest Faith Baby, the more we can literally reach out and spread the amazing love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever heard of the “Oprah Effect?” Oprah; she’s one of the most influential personalities in media. This so-called “Oprah Effect” can suddenly bring fame to an unfamiliar company. Even a casual mention can bring a company or product exposure to millions of people and customers instantly.

By now you’re probably wondering if we’re going to be on Oprah…no! In fact, I just had this silly idea, and then thought-well, it’s really not that silly at all. As a Christian Clothing Company, we strive to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in all we do and stand for. So if there is a TV personality that can instantly bring thousands of people to one product, how much more can our Lord and Savior bring to us?

"God's Little Blessing" Baby Photo Contest

One of the most precious gifts to us from God is our children. More than ever, I've been thanking God for blessing me with my children and healthy ones at that; we are truly blessed. On a daily basis we receive emails from people adding their children to our prayer list, crying out for healing or thanking God for their health. We encourage everyone to continue sending in those emails.

Actually, what's been on my heart lately is, I've been thinking about all of God's beautiful children. There are parents who have not been as fortunate as we have and it breaks my heart that these families have to endure such heartache when one of their children have been diagnosed with a horrible disease, illness, special needs, etc. We believe that all children are a gift from the Lord and they should never be taken for granted.

Here's what we're up to: We are having a "God's Little Blessing" Baby Photo Contest. I know it's a little unusual for us to do something like this but we thought it would be fun for you to show off your little angel. You see, not only will you be able to show off your little one on our website and Facebook Fan Page but after the contest ends, we're going to turn that photo page into a "Pray For My Child" Photo Wall. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools God has given us. A blessing is not a blessing until it is spoken. We have got to declare God's goodness and favor over our children. We'll encourage everyone who visits the page to pray for every child on it. Faith Baby represents the wonderful blessing that God has promised us through our children and we are dedicated to help raise children in God's light.

We're making it very simple to enter, here's how it works:

Get your photos ready, the contest starts on March 8th and ends on March 31st. There are a few rules and here they are...

1. Your Child must currently be between 0-5 yrs of age.

2. Only one photo per child. Multiples (twins, triplets, etc.) will be entered as one "baby photo" entry if all babies are in one photo or count separately if sending in one photo per child.

3. A digital photo must be emailed directly to us (info@faithbaby.com) with your child's first name. Make sure to put in the subject line "Baby Photo Contest".

4. No need to dress your little one in our Faith Baby apparel (although that would just be an extra brownie point).

5. Because all children are near and dear to our hearts, looks and appearances will not be the determining factor, the winner will be chosen by a random number draw.

6. We ask that you become a fan on our new Facebook Fan Page and suggest our fan page to all of your friends. Not only will they be able to enter their little one in the contest but they will be able to add their child to our "Pray For My Child" Photo wall. Or, you can tweet about the contest on Twitter, also feel free to blog about it. You are more than welcome to copy our photo above for your blog or website and help us promote the contest that way (please link it to www.faithbaby.com). If you are not on Facebook or Twitter, we still invite you to enter your child in the contest.

7. Lastly, the photo serves as a release to Faith Baby, Inc. that you, the parent or legal guardian, gives us the right to use the photo on our website, blog, and Facebook Fan Page. Entrant represents and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original, non-published work that does not infringe any privacy, intellectual property or other rights of third parties. By submitting the photo you are acknowledging that a release has already been signed and that you are the legal parent/guardian to the child. Photos will become property of Faith Baby, Inc.

Thank you! To those who have been believing with us, the test results for our friend and sister in Christ (Esmeralda) came back and cancer results are benign!! God is good! Prayer Request

It's been a while since I last blogged, I can't believe how time flies by. We've been super busy working on some great things for Spring, new designs, new baby bloomers and new toddler tee's Lots of great stuff coming soon...

I just got a call from my husband and he asked that I send out a prayer request. One of his friends from work, his wife Esmeralda is going in for a biopsy on her throat, apparently she has a growth. I don't have any other details we are just asking and believing that there is no signs of cancer or anything else very serious, so if you would please pray for her too. Thank you all and God Bless each one of you!

Halloween from a Christians prospective

A few years ago a good friend sent me this article so I thought I'd pass it along to you. I'm not sure where the article came from all I know is it gave me the chills when I read it. So, just in case you are not familiar with the origination of halloween you may want to continue reading....

As for me, yes, I did trick-o-treat when I was a kid and yes, I thought it was a fun thing to do, what kid wouldn't!?!

Even before having children of my own my husband and I stopped acknowledging halloween altogether, we think it's a dark and demonic event. Sure, we give out candy, in fact we give out bags of candy with this artical inserted in it.

I know.. you're probably thinking I'm some weirdo. But after reading this artical it made me realize just how the devil will do anything, even by using children, our children and your children to seem as though his darkness is a good thing. Well in my household we're not standing for it!

Please don't get me wrong, at times I do feel horrible that my son, at almost 4 wont be trick-or-treating. In fact, he does not even know what trick-or-treating is. I'm not posting this to stir up controversy just a little reminder that Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life......

Halloween What It Is From a Christian Perspective

Many Christians will allow and even encourage their children to pay respect to the devil on October 31 without knowing they do so.

Churches will fully sanction the event with parties that will be decorated with witches, cats, brooms, jack-o-lanterns and bobbing apples. What is the harm? How did this originate?

The custom of Halloween is traced to the Druid festival of the dead. Then the Roman Pantheon was built by Emperor Hadrian in 100 A.D. as a temple to the goddess Cybele and other Roman deities. It became the principle place of worship. Roman pagans prayed for the dead. Rome was captured and the Pantheon fell into disrepair. Emporer Phocas captured Rome and gave the Pantheon to Pope Boniface IV in 609. He reconsecrated it to the Virgin Mary and resumed using the temple to pray for the dead, only now it was "Christianized", as men added the unscriptural teaching of purgatory.

In 834 A.D. Gregory IV extended the feast for all the church and it became known as All Saint's Day, still remembering the dead. Samhain, a Druid god of the dead was honored at Halloween in Britain, France, Germany and the Celtic countries. Samhain called together all wicked souls who died within the past year and that were destined to inhabit animals.

This celebration of the dead honored the god of the dead on this particular night. Druids believed that souls of the dead returned to their former homes to be entertained by the living. Bonfires were built atop hills so they might find their way. Suitable food and shelter was provided for these spirits or else they would cast spells, cause havoc, steal infants, destroy crops, kill farm animals and create terror as they haunted the living. The spirits demanded placating by giving them a type of worship and offering. This is the action that "Trick-or-Treat" emulates today.

The Samhain celebration used nuts, apples, skeletons, witches and black cats. Divination and auguries were practiced as well as magic to seek answers for the future. Black cats were considered to be reincarnated beings with the ability to divine the future. During this festival supernatural beings terrified the populace. Even today witchcraft practitioners declare October 31st as the most conducive time to practice their arts.

The Christian church tried to eliminate the Druid celebration by offering All Saint's Day as a substitute. As Christianity spread over Europe and the British Isles, it attempted to replace the pre-existing pagan cult worship of Apollo, Diana or Ymir, but to no avail.

Although the outward forms of such worship disappeared, the belief in these deities did not. They found an outlet during the Middle Ages in the open practice of witchcraft which is presently enjoying a revival in many countries, including the U.S. In Germany the occult is considered more prevalent than in the Middle Ages. The deistic cults held periodic meetings known as witches sabbaths, and it is the same today with October 31st being of more importance.

Prosperity was promised to all who were generous donors, and tricks to all who refused during the Irish Druid event of trick-or-treat. The contributions demanded were in the name of Muck Olla, and early Druid deity.

Traditional Halloween symbols appeared in the U.S. during the late 1800's. Witches, black cats, death's head cut from a pumpkin, candles, masks, parties and pranks were used.

In rural areas, aggravating and destructive acts were done, such as removing gates and placing them atop barns. The same was done with outhouses and wagons.

The uninformed Christian has no idea that there truly are demonic spirits which are contacted and activated as people call out to them in jest or in seriousness. Every act around Halloween is in honor of false gods, which are spirits in the realm of the Satanic. Those who have been deeply involved in witchcraft and who are now free, declare that even those who say they worship spirits of nature are in actuality contacting the Satanic realm without knowing it.

To pray for the dead is against scripture. If one knows Jesus before death, their spirit is already with the Lord. Paul says to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord, II Corinthians 5:6. If one is an unbeliever at death, the scripture says there is no second chance as it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Therefore, prayer for the dead is in opposition to God's Word and a pagan practice that became "Christianized". While living, one must make a choice "for" or "against" Jesus and that determines the destination at death of the spirit. No amount of prayer can reverse the decision made on earth by the person concerned while they were alive.

The Bible instructs us to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness. Both Christian and Jew are forbidden to participate in the occult practices listed in Deuteronomy 18:10. Necromancing is the delving into contacting the dead. God said all such practice was an abomination to Him.

Some may reply, "But we only do this in fun...we don't practice witchcraft." That which represents Satan and his domain cannot be handled or emulated "for fun". Such participation places you in enemy and forbidden territory and that is dangerous ground.

Through the ages, Halloween has gone by various names but all have been tributes to the same dark force, Satan. There is no place in the life of the Church or the Christian for such participation.

Wow! I can't believe I sit at my desk and I have actually found 10 mintues to blog. So, I thought I'd use my time wisely and show some gratitude.

First, I'd like to thank the Good LORD for everything HE has given me, my children, family and health. Also, I'm so very thankful and appreciate everyone of our customers, followers and fellow tweeters who show so much support in our company.

Working long hours (sometimes until midnight) processing orders, inventory, books, you know, the behind the scene issues that every business has to do. It's not an easy job! When I first started my business I truly did not anticipate it to take off the way it has. If you know my story it was just an idea inspired by my little angel Amanda, who is now dancing and praising the LORD. Then just after my son was born, my journey begin with "mommy's answered prayers", which has now bloomed into this fantastic business in which I am so thankful for. All of the long hours and working late, literally falling asleep at my computer have all been worth it.

On the other hand, I'm not going to say I'm a designer who follows "status quo" of new design collections or new fashions for every season. Although, I'm not saying that's bad and you may even hear me use those terms but I want you to know I'm just an ordinary mommy, in whom the Lord has given me many ideas so I follow my heart and let HIM guide my path in everything I do.. As we continually add new products, every idea is one that the LORD has gracefully laid upon my heart.

And since my 10 minutes are up, I'd like to give everyone of you a BIG Thank You and may you use the talents that the Lord has given you and pray that it will blossom into your own dream, whether it be..being a mommy, owning your own business, being a loving wife, adopting a child, having a baby or even having more children. May you pray and seek HIS guidance. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your paths" Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Joshua and I had a date today and this is where we ended up, any guesses?

How about one of the hottest cities in the US! If I told you it was a hot day that would be an understatement, lets just say it hit about 105 in Palm Springs today and that was a little on the cooler side for this time of year.

As you can see Josh loves to play in the water.

He was all about wetting anyone that walked by, even if we didn't know them, no problem, they were indeed getting soaked!

We had such a blast the best part was when the large cup spilled over and just about brought you to your knees as it dumped all of the chilly water down below...

Highly recommend "Knotts Soak City" in Palm Springs, California. You've gotta go, that is, if you haven't already been!

This weeks Blog Hop is "Three Things You Did Not Know About Me (or US)" so here goes..

1) I write left handed but do everything else with my right.. Isn't there a term for that?
I guess that's why I sometimes tend to be a little dyslexic.

2) I took my "Hunters Safety Course' when I was about 22 years old and passed with flying colors.

3) My husband and I lived in Alabama for a few years in the 90's (that is where he is from, a total "country boy" at heart) I sooo loved it, but I missed my family so we moved back to California. Any of you from Alabama?

It's Friday and I really can't decide...Is it "Finally Friday" or Is it "Friday Already"..hmmm.

Boy this week has been very long, yet, so short and never enough time. What has been really going on around here?

We've been super swamped this week. Due to many requests, we've been preparing for the launch of our new Youth Tee's. We'll have a few designs available on our website soon, here's a sneak peek!

Also, coming soon are our wide headbands with flowers. Some of which will coordinate with our tee's and onesies.

Some won't cordinate with our clothing, but are just adorable....

Yay, Finally! as many of you would say. Please, don't forget to sign up for our mailing so you'll be the first to hear about their arrival.

With that being said, business has been tremendously busy around here, not to mention all 3 babes have been sick. Tuesday June 30th, I took the twins to the Dr. and as suspected Dr. C said it is just their teething. There was really nothing she could do for them.

As Wednesday approached, right before the holiday weekend, Josh started a fever, I carried him to the Dr., she said, not sure, he is probably just fighting off a bug.

Then Monday rolls around and before you know it, I'm hauling all 3 back to the pediatricians office. Come to find out, they all have head colds. Josh was given cough medicine and the twins were given Albuterol for wheezing.

Here they are as we were on our way out.

Yup, today is Friday and they are feeling much better, a little bit of congestion still with runny noses; They love to roam in their playroom.

Now if all this isn't enough my babies are very light sleepers. They take 10 minute power naps and then run for quite a few hours, they've done this since they were born. My 3 1/2 year old son did away with his nap a year ago. As for me, here I sit, falling asleep, trying to blog and make sense of it all... But through it all, I am so happy to be a mommy with such a loving and blessed family and business. Thank you Lord! and to you, all of our fans, we appreciate every single one of you and pray that all of your needs are met! Have a great weekend.

I know! I Know! I'm very bad at blogging everyday...and yes, I must confess, I am no expert at writing. My thoughts are many but my words are few.. Today I'll be brief, just a few things going on around here, other than business as usual.

(1)The twins turned 8months on June 22nd and I haven't updated their photo, it's coming soon.

(2)We've been a little under the weather, yuck! I do not like being sick, and extremely dislike seeing my kids sick, but thank the Good Lord there is no fever and we have a dr's visit this afternoon.

(3)Love Love the new MckLinky system I signed up for last week. I can't wait to use it soon. We've all heard the news!

It’s Thursday afternoon here in Southern California, my husband comes in to my office after a long day at work, just staring at me until I finally get off an important phone call. With disbelief in his expression, I ask… “What is it honey”? As tears roll out of his eyes (he is such a sensitive person), "we have lost two great beautiful people who I feel I grew up with"(not literally)..Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Wow! I couldn’t believe my ears. I heard earlier in the day that Farah had died, but heard nothing of Michael.

With disbelief, my heart sank. Michael Jackson, was an icon of this great world and Farah what a beauty!

Many people have marked Michael Jackson has such a creep, but who am I to judge, I’m No One! His Judgment is probably being laid upon him as I write this. To many he was the worst example of a father or friend, but we all must step back and take a great look at this and examine our self. A person of great wealth and talent, here on earth for such a short time, no one can judge or even imagine what this man has gone through in his personal life, an entertainer, father, brother, son, uncle and friend, he is who he was….

No matter if you are Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett or just a plain ordinary person, one thing is for sure, we all have a Divine appointment with the Good Lord. It may not be today, tomorrow or even next week but every day is one day closer to meeting the King of Kings. A Little Fathers Day Fun

What a Nice and Beautiful weekend it was here is Southern California. OH how my son loves the water.. Whether it be fishing, swimming or just plain running through the water he can't get enough, so daddy and Joshie had a little water fun on Fathers Day.

The twins and I stayed inside most of the day and I got a little rest after visiting grandpa and grandma. I did manage to take a peek outside at my bouganvilla, which to my surprise is coming around nicely this year. I enjoy gardening and love to see the beauty of blooming flowers.

Daddy has been patiently waiting for his boat to get out of service so he can hit the ocean for some big yellow tail action, and since he is waaay over due for some that he and Joshie have been spending a lot of time together lately at the lake catching one little fish at a time..

No matter what is on their agenda they always seem to enjoy spending time together. I want to thank my husband for being such a wonderful daddy, he so loves our beautiful children. The love he shows them is truly a blessing not only to them but to me. So Happy Fathers Day, we love you daddy!

Children learn by watching their parents. Studies have shown that children, who are read to, are more likely to develop a passion for reading, so we know that it is important to read to our children. However, what we read to our children is even more important.

For adults, reading the Bible should be an important part of our daily life. It helps to expand our understanding of God, and strengthen our faith. Children need the same type of spiritual food as adults. Children need to hear the word of God, so they too can develop a better understanding of their faith. We teach our children not only by reading the Bible to them, but also by letting them see us read it for ourselves.

Children take notice of how we prioritize our lives. If we make it a priority to read our Bible and spend daily time with God, we are setting an example for our children to do the same.

Children also thrive when they have a set schedule. It is important to set up your daily routine, and stick to it as much as possible. When you are planning your schedule, be sure to include a special time to read the Bible to your children, and teach them all of the wonderful stories in the Bible.

The Bible may seem like a complicated book, but there is so much that children can learn from it. God knows how we learn, and he took that into consideration when instructing the recording of the Gospel. The Bible contains several stories and parables that are simple enough for children to understand.

One of the most important things that we as parents can do is to make sure our children learn the Word of God, by showing them how important it is to us.

I just love my son!

It all started this afternoon when I went to the grocery store, I decided on this very delectable apple pie. If you know me, I love hot apple pie a-la-mode....mmm.. Anyways, as I walked through the front door with this pie and a couple other groceries, I was attacked by my 3yr old son. In some strange way he imagined that I bought this pie for him, there is only one problem, it contained peanuts and he is allergic to peanuts, so we think. (He has yet to be tested, but that's another story). It was very hard for me but I had to clearly explain to him that this pie contained peanuts and he couldn't have any...I felt so bad for him because this pie looked Absolutely Scrumptious! So gooey and oozing with caramel!

Okay, so it may not have looked that pleasing to the eye, but it was a treat to look forward to. So, after begging and pleading with his mommy I gave him a couple other options and like always, he choose the "surprise" option..I told him when he finished his dinner I would give him a surprise of something he just loves.. He sat and waited so patiently, that's so unlike him...

After he was done with his dinner, I told him to remain in his high chair (I know, a high chair at 3, yes!) and I would then give him his surprise. As he sat there waiting, I told him to face the TV, close his eyes and open his mouth...this is what he got.

Yup, nothing like fresh whip cream straight from the can! He really enjoy it and had so much fun! I love my son and try not to give him many sweets or items with sugar. He has very bad eczema and he gets extremely hyper after eating things that contain sugar. I enjoy the time we get to spend together, since the twins were born he and I get very little quality time and I miss it. Although I so truly love my twin girls, it is very hard work and time consuming. As many of my reader with multiples know, it's a challenge! He and I enjoyed our evening together, the twins were in bed early, I bathed him then he sat and watched TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) until he feel asleep.

My twins turn 7 months

The Dedicating of a Baby to the Lord

Your baby is a gift from the Lord. As Christians we believe this and accept this gift with open arms, as a result you may choose to dedicate your baby to the Lord. To the bringing up and raising of your baby as the Bible says. You will live by the verse in Proverbs, “Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Dedicating your baby to the Lord is a wonderful practice. Many churches have baby dedication services that will allow you to do this as a public act. However, even if this is not a possibility you and your spouse can easily make this dedication between each other and the Lord.

You may want to choose a verse of Scripture for you child, write them a letter and buy them their first Bible. Take pictures of the special day as it will be one you surely want to remember. When your child gets old enough to understand you can show them the pictures and explain to them what you did. They can understand that you want them to love Jesus and obey Him. This is the perfect way to begin sharing Jesus' plan of salvation with your child.

Just think how the act of dedication can make such a lasting impact on the life of your family. What a wonderful decision to make.

Teaching Our Children To Pray

Prayer it is such an important part of our relationship with God. Some of us may have learned to pray as a small child, or maybe you didn't begin your prayer life until you were an adult, either way if you have seen the effects and the power of prayer in your life, surely you want to teach your child how to know and use that same power that comes with whispering a prayer to God.

Prayer is to be easy, not difficult. We can teach our children to pray by simply helping them to understand that prayer is merely “talking to God”. We must help them to realize that though they cannot see or touch God that He is real, He is there and He wants to hear from them. That all they have to do is talk to Him like they would talk to us or a friend and they can learn to pray.

You may have learned little prayers in your childhood, such as “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep” or “God is Great, God is Good”. While it is perfectly fine to teach your child these prayers and most likely they can memorize them and prayer them over and over it is also good to teach them to create their own prayers to ask God's blessing on different family members or to thank God for specific things he has done for them.

We never want our children to think that prayer is just reciting something that they learned but we do want them to know that they can say anything to God and that they can talk to Him whenever they want. When they are afraid, when they happy, when they are sad, starting a conversation with God has no limits and we want to make them as comfortable as possible with the idea of prayer.

Remembering to say "Thank You"

We have so much to be thankful for, it doesn't take much time to look around us in this world and to see the horror, the hurt, the pain that so many people are experiencing, whether it be the loss of a loved one, a job, or experiencing suffering or sickness, financial loss or marital issues. There is much pain in our world.

Even still there is much to be thankful for and as Christian we should always remember to be grateful and to say “Thank you”. Not only take time to praise and thank God for your blessings but take the time to talk to your children about them as well. Help your child to count their blessings, help them to learn to be “thankful”.

No matter what the case whether it be as something as small as having them say “thank you” to their grandmother when she bakes them cookies, or having them to say “thank you” to God for the food on their plate at night. We all know we take too much for granted and that it is important for all of us to say “thank you”.

So, why not try to make it habit. Begin to concentrate on the number of times you stop to say “thank you”. Begin to be more intentional about how you teach your child to say “thank you”. Just generally make it a priority in your life. Because living a life of gratitude is so much more enjoyable than living a life of jealousy and envy or of bitterness.

You will be surprised what it can do for you! Why not give it a try today.

Practice the practice of prayer

Having a baby is one of life's most precious blessings and largest gifts. It can also for many women be a scary time, while for others can be one of the most amazing times of ones life. No matter what it may be for you a good practice to make during your pregnancy and to continue throughout your child's life is the practice of praying for your child.

You may have been praying for having a baby to become a reality to you for a long time or you may have gotten pregnant easily without giving it much thought or prayer, either way the pregnancy is a gift from God. He has given you an ultimate blessing as well as the ultimate responsibility. For both we should send up a prayer. A prayer of thanksgiving as well as prayers to ask for wisdom to raise the child in the ways of God. There will no doubt be days in the child's life when you will definitely have to bathe him or her in prayer.

Therefore, starting their days even before here on earth with your prayers is a wonderful thing to do. You can begin now to pray for the days of their lives, the relationships and friendships they will form, the decisions that they will make, the lessons that they will learn, all you can begin to pray for before they are even born.

Begin now to practice the practice of prayer, you won't regret that you did.

All too often as adults we send the children away. We make them eat at a separate table at family gatherings, we shush them, or we rush them away to play so that they do not disturb the adults. It truly is a sad reality. Children are a blessing, a gift from God and they are “precious in His sight”.

I recall the Bible story of Jesus and the little children. The area around where Jesus stood was crowded, but the father wanted his children to receive Jesus' blessing. The people in the crowd tried to send them away, but gentle Jesus said, “let the children come unto me”.

Jesus then told the crowd how they too needed to be like these little children. He commended the children for their childlike faith, and he blessed them. If Jesus took time out for the children, shouldn't we?

The next time you are gathered with adults, chatting and enjoying each other, do not forget the children, do not hastily send them away. Remember Jesus' words and what He took the time to do. Remember that they are “precious in His sight” and therefore should be in ours as well.

Thank God for the blessings of not only your own children, but the children around you. Watch them and witness what you can learn from them, the faith and wonder of children that God puts in them it is something we can both enjoy and learn from, it is why God made them the way that He did, to be a blessing to many.

Anthony Noah Rivas is currently in the hospital. He is 3 months old. He is the 4th child to Gus and Diane Rivas and only boy. At 5 days old he had open heart surgery, that was not as much as a success as they would have liked. He is currently at the top of the list for a heart transplant. The doctors are concerned as he is getting worse and no heart is available as of yet. Please pray that a heart becomes available to him, or that miraculously God will heal him, but also pray for the family that will lose their child in order for Anthony to have life. Pray for Gus, Diane and their 3 beautiful girls that God would continue to provide for all their needs and give then peace and comfort.

Please pray for Sara she has a high risk pregnancy. She is 18 weeks along and has serious health issues, including a rare blood antibody that puts the baby at risk. She had two miscarriages in the past, but has been blessed with two healthy daughters who she said are definitely "faith babies." She don't know yet if this baby is a boy or a girl, but has been using the nickname Baby Boop for the time-being.

Prayer request for the continued healing of Phyllis Maberys Granddaughter Chanel, She is now 2 months old. She had quiet a fight to stay with us here on earth. At three days old, had to have open heart surgery. She is 11lbs, strong and is an answer to many prayers. Our God is faithful to all who believe.

Jenns daugther will be four in May and has some special needs for which she has finally found the correct people to help her. God has really led the correct people to their lives and has given her the peace to deal with everything and everyone.

Please pray for Christines precious son Jake. He started having seizures, out of the blue in August. Since August, and several weeks in and out of hospitals, he has not a had a seizure free day. He has as many as 20 seizures a day.
